Yaw sensor replacement
$60.00
Description
This pigtail is for 2003 control modules being used in 2004 or 2005 Quadrasteers that trigger the yaw and acceleration fault codes (C0186 & C0196) because the ’04 and ’05 did not use the Yaw sensor. The 2003 module is looking for the yaw and acceleration sensor that is normally mounted under the passenger seat in 2002 & 2003 Quadrasteers.
To install:
- Remove the grey 24 pin connector from the rear steer control module (mounted above and left of spare tire on pickups or directly behind rear license plate on Suburban and Yukons.
- Remove the red CPA lock.
- Snap off the black retainer lock.
- Open the strain relief (two tabs that allows it to split in half to access the pins).
- Insert the 4 wires into their numbered slots.
- Snap on the black retainer lock onto the connector.
- Snap together the strain relief.
- Insert the red CPA lock.
- Snap the grey 24 pin connector into the module.
Note: The 2002 rear steer control modules only work on 2002 trucks and start with a 1517 on GM’s 8 digit part number. The 2003 module will work on 2003 – 2005 however it will throw the above fault codes if used on a 2004 or 2005 Quadrasteer. The 2004 and 2005 modules will also work on the 2003 but it will not be using the yaw sensor, it simply ignores the yaw and acceleration voltages.
